E
ncouraged by family and friends and with the advice and guidance of working professional artists, I have fulfilled a lifelong desire to become a painter.  As a longtime resident of Arizona, I am motivated to paint the tones and variations of the visual environment of the southwest landscape.

When a sight stimulates my imagination, I attempt to capture my impression with a minimum of detail the patterns of light that fall on the ground or on a building surface, or by an especially dramatic sky.

True to my reputation as a colorist, I use color in an exaggerated sense.  It is my nature to depict it that way.

My art is done 'alla prima' with brush and palette knife using oil paints and working on location as much as possible.  I love it when people react to my paintings, my life is enriched by the knowledge that they are interested in my paintings and in the way I communicate my feelings to others through my art.

I am grateful for the opportunity to paint with and be a member of the Sage Brush Artists.  Our artistic environment is strong and we all motivate each other.  “I owe much credit for my success to my artist friends for their continued support and technical help.”
