I remember drawing, painting, and making my own toys before I entered elementary school. My teachers encouraged me to continue my art projects by assigning me visual presentations like creating maps, bulletin board displays, and other classroom exhibits. I always thought that anyone could be an artist if they tried. However, it wasn't until I was older that I realized that some people are born with an acute visual sense. Lois Griffel explained, "You can teach people art, but you can't teach them to be artists."
Being a member of the Sage Brush Artists affords each of us the opportunity to communicate with others who share this visual sense and have developed their abilities with extensive art training. Artists speak their own language and look at the world differently than others, and it's wonderful to belong to a group who understand where each is "coming from."
Art is a passion with us. there is no greater joy than having a piece come together after planning the design, working out the color combinations, and applying the various layers to complete the finished painting.
As a member of the Sage Brush Artists, you are challenged to reach a higher level of art expression.
