 I am an oil painter and pastelist, born and raised in the Red River Valley of the North -- a flat, rich farmland area. I have painted most of my life and can hardly wait to see what spectacular colors mother nature is giving me to paint each day. Every scene and object is a prospective subject to paint. My goal is to make the ordinary look extraordinary whether it is a vegetable from my garden or the landscape around me. Because of the evenness of the surrounding terrain, our skyscapes are awesome.
For the past year, I have focused on creating small paintings that provide an intimate view of my subjects and remain fresh because they can be completed in one session.
